At BeInMotion, we take your privacy seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use the BeInMotion app (iOS and Android) and the website motion-studio.io.
The short version: your videos never leave your device, your workout files are processed locally, and we only sync the minimum needed to keep your season, world map, and routes available across devices.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
Creating an account is optional for local features, but required for cloud sync. When you create an account we collect:
- Email address
- Sign-in identifiers when you use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In
- Display name and profile settings you choose
1.2 Workout & Health Data
BeInMotion is built around your training. With your explicit permission, we read workouts from:
- Apple Health (iOS) and Google Health Connect (Android)
- Garmin Connect, if you link your Garmin account
- Activity files you import manually (GPX, TCX)
This data can include:
- Activity type, duration, and timestamps
- GPS coordinates and route data
- Performance metrics (heart rate, speed, cadence, power, elevation)
- Device and sensor information
Workout data powers your Moe season progress, the sport-mix hexagon, and your personal world map. You can revoke health permissions at any time in your system settings, and disconnect Garmin Connect in the app.
1.3 Season, Sport Mix & Collection
From your workouts we derive your season progress: sport hours, Moe growth and evolution stages, your sport-mix balance (endurance, strength, mobility, coordination, speed, core), and the companion forms in your collection. If you have an account, this progress is synced so it is not lost when you switch devices.
1.4 World Map, Routes & Navigation
Your personal world map is built from the areas you have been active in (hexagon fields), the routes you save or create, and your achievements. If you have an account, this map state syncs via our backend (Supabase) so it stays available across sessions and devices.
When you use AI route discovery, the relevant map region and your route preferences are processed to generate route suggestions. Turn-by-turn navigation runs during your activity; we do not track your live location in the background outside of an active navigation or recording session.
1.5 Video Content
Videos stay on your device. Video import, editing with telemetry overlays, and export rendering all happen locally on your iPhone or Android device. We do not upload, access, view, or store your video files or the raw workout files used for overlays on our servers.
1.6 Payment Information
Subscriptions are purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play. We never see or store your full payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status, which processes a pseudonymous user identifier and purchase receipts.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide the core app experience: Moe season, sport mix, world map, routes, navigation, and the video editor
- Sync your progress across devices when you have an account
- Process your subscription and unlock Pro features
- Respond to your inquiries and support requests
- Improve stability and usability of the app
- Detect and prevent fraud or abuse
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your health or workout data for advertising.
3. Analytics and Crash Reporting
We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand how the app is used and to fix crashes. This includes:
- App usage statistics (features used, session duration)
- Crash reports and error logs
- Device type and operating system version
Analytics data does not include your workout content, videos, or map data. You can opt out of analytics collection in the app settings.
4. Third-Party Services
BeInMotion integrates with the following services:
- Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple): authentication and payments on iOS
- Google (Google Play, Google Sign-In): distribution, payments, and authentication on Android
- Apple Health / Google Health Connect: optional workout import, only with your permission
- Garmin Connect: optional workout sync via a linked Garmin account, only with your permission
- RevenueCat: subscription management
- Supabase: account and cloud sync backend (season progress, map state, routes)
- Firebase: analytics and crash reporting
Each third-party service has its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their policies to understand how they handle your data.
5. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide our services and as required by law. You can delete your account directly in the app settings; this removes your synced season progress, map state, and routes from our backend. Data stored only on your device (including all videos) is removed when you delete the app.
6. Your Rights
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR), you have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your data
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time

7. Children's Privacy
BeInMotion is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us.
8. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information, including encryption in transit. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example when we ship new features. We will notify you of changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
